TMU Dental’s Principal and VP Shine at Bangkok Conference

In a remarkable achievement for the Teerthankar Mahaveer University- TMU, Moradabad (UP) Dental College and Research Center, Principal Prof. (Dr.) Pradeep Tangade and Vice Principal Dr. Ankita Jain received the first prize for their research papers at the First International Conference on National to Global Oral Health held in Bangkok, Thailand.

The university’s Chancellor, Mr. Suresh Jain, expressed pride in these accomplishments, highlighting the significant contributions of the dental college. During the Three-day event, both researchers presented their papers under the auspices of the International Association of Public Health and Dentistry (IAPHD), with Prof. Tangade and Dr. Jain also chairing a session.

Prof. Tangade’s research focused on the effectiveness of Triphala extract, Manuka honey, and chlorhexidine mouthwash in reducing plaque accumulation and gingival inflammation among undergraduates, suggesting that Manuka honey is moreeffective than other treatments. Dr. Jain’s paper examined the long-term effectiveness of calcium phosphate desensitizing agents in alleviating dental hypersensitivity over a 24-week clinical evaluation, demonstrating their efficacy.

The conference attracted over 350 dental professionals from around the world, with Dr. Dibyendu Majumdar, President of the Dental Council of India, attending as the chief guest. This marks the second international conference participation for both researchers, with Prof. Tangade and Dr. Jain previously attending conferences in Bangkok in 2018 and 2019, respectively.

Prof.Tangade has published 40 international and 148 national research papers, while Dr. Jain has 66 international and 128 national publications. Together, they hold several patents and have authored books published in Germany, solidifying their status as leading figures in dental research.
